About Coach

I was a competitive gymnast throughout elementary, middle, and junior high school. I was an all-around state champion and regional qualifier, but after a neck injury put an end to my career, I knew I wanted to find another sport that could give me that same intensity. After a Google search entitled “high-intensity sports near me,” I found a local CrossFit gym (no, I’m not kidding!!). I competed in Olympic-style weightlifting and CrossFit at a gym in my hometown for 4 years before moving to Green Bay and finding RedDoor. I’ve been working out and coaching at RedDoor for 2 years now. I recently participated in the Door County Triathlon Sprint and have a partner CrossFit competition coming up in September 2023 with Coach Tyler! I have been a coach for as long as I can remember. I coached recreational gymnastics when I was in junior high and high school, and earned my CrossFit Level 1 Certification in 2018. I coached at the CrossFit gym in my hometown for 3 years, and have now been coaching at RedDoor for 2 years.

Turning Point

I started struggling with “mental blocks” in my gymnastics days. It prevented me from reaching my full potential because there were certain skills I was never able to do solely because I couldn’t get out of my own head. Because I sustained a serious neck injury, I was never given another opportunity to achieve those skills I had been too afraid to do in the past. I developed pretty severe anxiety and depression because of this. Since finding CrossFit, I’ve been able to push myself to lift weights I never thought I’d lift and do skills I never thought I’d be able to do. I was able to switch my mindset from viewing exercise as something stressful to viewing exercise as a way to decrease my stress. Aside from the many mental blocks I’ve overcome myself, I truly believe a lot of my success is due to the other athletes in the gym. The sense of community is unmatched! Having other athletes gather around you when you’re struggling or doing something that scares you is such a great feeling. They all push me to be a better athlete and coach!

Motivation & Passion

I became a coach to help everyone reach their full potential. I truly believe exercise can help you in all aspects of your life. Yes, you will see some physical changes, but the mental changes are life-changing (literally!!). Exercise has increased my energy levels, helped my body release more endorphins and dopamine, and increased my confidence. All these things have led to an increase in overall happiness. I want to help others experience the same!
